Canada Domain Names
Choosing domain names can both be fun and difficult. Of course, you must be able to come up with one that is easy to remember and best reflects its kind of web site or the business or organization that owns the web site.
Domain names
After getting through that process of deciding on a domain name, you can already get on with your web site and register your domain name. Domain names are registered on the Domain Name System or DNS, comprehensive directory of domain names and numerical representations or addresses of computers assigned or designated to your domain name.
Canadian domain names
Canadian domain names are easily recognizable because they have dot ca (.ca) at the end of the web address. For example, a Canadian Mickey Mouse web site can have a domain name or web address like www.CanadianMickeyMouse.ca or www.Canadian MickeyMouse.com.ca.
Domain name registration
It is important to note that even if you register a domain name as yours, it does not actually belong to you. Like a phone number, you only receive the right for exclusive use of that domain name. That goes on as long as you are paying. When you stop paying or when you terminate your deal with the web hosting service provider, the domain name becomes available to others again, and they can register it under their name.
Upon registration, your domain name or account becomes hosted by the nameserver or server belonging to your web hosting company. Your domain name, along with other domain names, refers to an IP address in a principle called “shared hosting”.
Simply put, when you registering your domain name means that you have to enter the company’s nameserver and inform the DNS nameserver on the location of your hosting account. After that, you would then be able to find your website on the Internet.
